    Blog Block May 7, 2008

What, 5 days since my last post? D: I have nothing to blog about. Um... let's see.

We finished Phantom of the Opera on Monday. It's a good movie, actually. Like I said, you just have to get past the fact that it's a musical. Since my French teacher changed the language of the video to French, and had the subtitles in English, I asked my mom to order the movie from Netflix to watch it in English. I'll be able to say I've seen a movie in two languages--for the first time! :)

Lately I've been watching Beverly Hills, 90210 on cbs.com. That's an old show. Well, it came out 3 years before I was born. It lasted for 10 years though, meaning there's 10 seasons! cbs.com only has three of the seasons though. :( Maybe...eventually...they'll add the other seasons.

Well, sorry really short. Maybe something will happen today. I've got to go, 20 minutes until I have to leave and wait for the bus outside. Have a fun day at school! :P

Please read! After not understanding why I was not receiving e-mails from anyone, I logged into my Bravenet which hosts my contact forms. For some reason, they had not been able to contact me, so none of the e-mails anyone sent me through the contact forms were delivered to my e-mail. I don't know how long it has been since they last worked. For those of you who had sent me affiliate applications, or questions/comments, I'm sorry for not returning a reply, but please know, they do work now.

Yesterday (May 1st) was a holiday celebrated by many countries. When I went to my French class, we were surprised to learn that we were not going to do any work that day, because in France, everyone was at home, and did not work for just that day. I guess this day is called "May Day" I don't know what it is in France... Possibly the same, but translated, of course.

So being that we didn't do any work, we watched a movie! Yay, right? Well... supposedly. We watched the 2004 version of Phantom of the Opera, which is a musical. By the way, we watched it in French. Luckily there are subtitles, but they sing really fast. At first, I really was hating it. Then, today, we began watching it from where we ended yesterday, and I really got into it. It's actually a good movie, once you get past the fact that they sing throughout the whole movie. We've not finished it yet though, but we should on Monday. My French teacher made us all so very upset. While we were watching it, it started getting to a very good part--one that sucks you in and you can't stop watching, basically. Then... she turned it off! Then all of the girls (and maybe some of the guys for all we know) started "squealing" (quote: guys in our class). Haha... I'll be the first to admit I started freaking out. "WHAT DID YOU DO THAT FOR???" Now I have to get through the weekend and hope I don't have Phantom of the Opera withdrawals. :P

    Happy 35th Apr 30, 2008

New layout, featuring my favorite color of course. The affiliates and blog categories are a little off, basically so that they look somewhat decent in Internet Explorer. I did my best... sorry IE users. IE sucks.

Yesterday was my dad's and his twin brother's birthday. Happy 35th to the both of you!

And that's about all I have to blog about... My life has been so very uninteresting lately, or, as always. Nothing has happened. Except the normal drama at school. All throughout the day today I heard tons of different girls with different reasons talking about beating up this one specific girl, who I actually use to be friends with. Er, we still kind of are, but we're not close. I wonder what she did to have everyone talking about her. :( I heard she was going to get beat up this weekend. Why would you plan that? Pathetic.

Oh, by the way, anyone want a new sister? She's 12. Free. Take her now.

/cough "Happy" last day of April...

    Driver's Ed. Apr 25, 2008

Wow, it's been quite a while since my last blog, hasn't it? Sorry for that, I just don't have anything to say. ): I really hate that too.

The only "new" thing in my life is... well, something I've already talked about: school ending soon. Oh, how sad it will be. I'll get over it.

I'm not going to Habitat for Humanity tomorrow, no way home. :(

Oh, yesterday was the last day for people to sign up for Driver's Education (Drivers Ed.) The cutoff date was September 1st, 1993. Meaning, if your birthday was before then, you could sign up for the class. However, my birthday is October 5th. Ah! One month and four days off, no fair! The guy said I could still sign up though, and if there was room they'd let me join. But my friend wanted me to take it with her this autumn, so I decided, "I'm not ready. I'll just wait." I really don't think I am ready... yet... Driving... It's kind of scary, with all the crazy drivers on the road, and to think that the number one reason for teen deaths is drunk driving. Psh, no worries about me drinking, but there are other stupid people on the road, drunk, and driving.

So, Allison (my little sister), will be a year old soon! May 12th, to be exact. She's getting so big! It's weird, though, she still hasn't started crawling. She tries to crawl, she pulls herself, but she hates being on her stomach. I have a feeling she won't be walking for a while. Oh well, she'll move at her own pace I suppose. :) I LOVE YOU ALLISON!

Weekend of Habitat Apr 20, 2008

Edit! NEW NEW NEW! New "project"... Inspired by: my health class. SNDD!

Yesterday, I woke up at 7 AM. I got ready, ate cereal, and waited for Heather and her dad (Reid) to pick me up. Her dad took us to Bojangles, and I got a gravy biscuit. Those are amazing! But... Biscuitville's gravy biscuits are better... After we ate, her dad dropped us off at the house Habitat for Humanity is currently working on. When Heather and I got there, only the supervisor (Brandon) and an old woman named Vera was there. And, actually, after we got there, no one else came, so it was just us four. I had doubts that'd we even get anything done, since there was a huge list of things and they were dedicating the house next Sunday.

Heather and I alone ended up getting a lot of things done. Vera basically painted over the doors, and painted along the windows. Brandon helped us here and there, and I don't know what else he did. First, Heather and I cut out a bunch of different pieces and glued them together and painted it white, which made the attic door. Then we went into one of the rooms and painted one wall, but didn't get to finish because a supervisor at another house that they were building called and said we needed to stain the side porch. So we stopped painting that room, and we went outside and stained the porch. After that, we went inside and filled up the small holes in the closet and painted over them. Then I noticed that the closet doors were only halfway painted, so we painted those. We did several other random things (I think... o.o) but I seem a little brain dead right now.

At 1:30 P.M., Reid picked us up from the Habitat house. We went to his mom's house and talked for a little while, and then went out and ate. We ate there and of course, chatted about random little things. Heather's grandparents are so crazy. They crack me up.They always tell crazy little stories, and her grandmother was eating my cheesy fries off of my plate. x) Ha, I wasn't going to be able to finish them anyway.

After we left, we went back to their house for a little while longer, then went to Heather's house. I stayed there for a few hours, mainly on the internet and looking at old yearbooks. It's strange how much people can change! Then, I went home and... well nothing. :D That is my weekend--or just Saturday--summed up.

Ohhh... I can't believe I have like, 47 days until the end of this year! It's going to be very sad... and I hate starting new school years! Getting up early, once again, new classes, new friends... Only 3 more months until I really start freaking out.
