Dear Allison,

Happy birthday baby! My little sister, Allison, is now a year old. I wonder if I still have visitors from when I posted when she was born...

Newborn | Currently

Allison, you have gotten so very big! Stop growing!

This has been one heck of a year! You changed each individual in this household's life, in a positive way. You've taught me to have more patience, and that there's a lot of responsibility when it comes to taking care of babies, all the time.

Allison, you've finally learned how to pull yourself up, and how to set up without someone helping you, though you've been able to hold yourself up for many months now. Now, at night, when you KNOW it's bedtime, you set up and cry when I don't play with you. You kept me up all night last night! I forgive you though. ^__^ You've pulled yourself around everywhere for the past couple of days, but today, you've finally learned how to crawl! You certainly can move around... Oh no! That means trouble for us. Now we have to baby-proof the whole house. :( What fun that'll be.

Mommy has baked you a cake. How nice! It's a confetti cake. :) Yum! I can't wait to see what you do when you see the cake! Happy birthday, and I love you!!

Blog Block

What, 5 days since my last post? D: I have nothing to blog about. Um... let's see.

We finished Phantom of the Opera on Monday. It's a good movie, actually. Like I said, you just have to get past the fact that it's a musical. Since my French teacher changed the language of the video to French, and had the subtitles in English, I asked my mom to order the movie from Netflix to watch it in English. I'll be able to say I've seen a movie in two languages--for the first time! :)

Lately I've been watching Beverly Hills, 90210 on cbs.com. That's an old show. Well, it came out 3 years before I was born. It lasted for 10 years though, meaning there's 10 seasons! cbs.com only has three of the seasons though. :( Maybe...eventually...they'll add the other seasons.

Well, sorry really short. Maybe something will happen today. I've got to go, 20 minutes until I have to leave and wait for the bus outside. Have a fun day at school! :P

Phantom of the Opera

Please read! After not understanding why I was not receiving e-mails from anyone, I logged into my Bravenet which hosts my contact forms. For some reason, they had not been able to contact me, so none of the e-mails anyone sent me through the contact forms were delivered to my e-mail. I don't know how long it has been since they last worked. For those of you who had sent me affiliate applications, or questions/comments, I'm sorry for not returning a reply, but please know, they do work now.

Yesterday (May 1st) was a holiday celebrated by many countries. When I went to my French class, we were surprised to learn that we were not going to do any work that day, because in France, everyone was at home, and did not work for just that day. I guess this day is called "May Day" I don't know what it is in France... Possibly the same, but translated, of course.

So being that we didn't do any work, we watched a movie! Yay, right? Well... supposedly. We watched the 2004 version of Phantom of the Opera, which is a musical. By the way, we watched it in French. Luckily there are subtitles, but they sing really fast. At first, I really was hating it. Then, today, we began watching it from where we ended yesterday, and I really got into it. It's actually a good movie, once you get past the fact that they sing throughout the whole movie. We've not finished it yet though, but we should on Monday. My French teacher made us all so very upset. While we were watching it, it started getting to a very good part--one that sucks you in and you can't stop watching, basically. Then... she turned it off! Then all of the girls (and maybe some of the guys for all we know) started "squealing" (quote: guys in our class). Haha... I'll be the first to admit I started freaking out. "WHAT DID YOU DO THAT FOR???" Now I have to get through the weekend and hope I don't have Phantom of the Opera withdrawals. :P

New layout, featuring my favorite color of course. The affiliates and blog categories are a little off, basically so that they look somewhat decent in Internet Explorer. I did my best... sorry IE users. IE sucks.

Yesterday was my dad's and his twin brother's birthday. Happy 35th to the both of you!

And that's about all I have to blog about... My life has been so very uninteresting lately, or, as always. Nothing has happened. Except the normal drama at school. All throughout the day today I heard tons of different girls with different reasons talking about beating up this one specific girl, who I actually use to be friends with. Er, we still kind of are, but we're not close. I wonder what she did to have everyone talking about her. :( I heard she was going to get beat up this weekend. Why would you plan that? Pathetic.

Oh, by the way, anyone want a new sister? She's 12. Free. Take her now.

/cough "Happy" last day of April...

Driver's Ed.

Wow, it's been quite a while since my last blog, hasn't it? Sorry for that, I just don't have anything to say. ): I really hate that too.

The only "new" thing in my life is... well, something I've already talked about: school ending soon. Oh, how sad it will be. I'll get over it.

I'm not going to Habitat for Humanity tomorrow, no way home. :(

Oh, yesterday was the last day for people to sign up for Driver's Education (Drivers Ed.) The cutoff date was September 1st, 1993. Meaning, if your birthday was before then, you could sign up for the class. However, my birthday is October 5th. Ah! One month and four days off, no fair! The guy said I could still sign up though, and if there was room they'd let me join. But my friend wanted me to take it with her this autumn, so I decided, "I'm not ready. I'll just wait." I really don't think I am ready... yet... Driving... It's kind of scary, with all the crazy drivers on the road, and to think that the number one reason for teen deaths is drunk driving. Psh, no worries about me drinking, but there are other stupid people on the road, drunk, and driving.

So, Allison (my little sister), will be a year old soon! May 12th, to be exact. She's getting so big! It's weird, though, she still hasn't started crawling. She tries to crawl, she pulls herself, but she hates being on her stomach. I have a feeling she won't be walking for a while. Oh well, she'll move at her own pace I suppose. :) I LOVE YOU ALLISON!

Weekend of Habitat

Edit! NEW NEW NEW! New "project"... Inspired by: my health class. SNDD!

Yesterday, I woke up at 7 AM. I got ready, ate cereal, and waited for Heather and her dad (Reid) to pick me up. Her dad took us to Bojangles, and I got a gravy biscuit. Those are amazing! But... Biscuitville's gravy biscuits are better... After we ate, her dad dropped us off at the house Habitat for Humanity is currently working on. When Heather and I got there, only the supervisor (Brandon) and an old woman named Vera was there. And, actually, after we got there, no one else came, so it was just us four. I had doubts that'd we even get anything done, since there was a huge list of things and they were dedicating the house next Sunday.

Heather and I alone ended up getting a lot of things done. Vera basically painted over the doors, and painted along the windows. Brandon helped us here and there, and I don't know what else he did. First, Heather and I cut out a bunch of different pieces and glued them together and painted it white, which made the attic door. Then we went into one of the rooms and painted one wall, but didn't get to finish because a supervisor at another house that they were building called and said we needed to stain the side porch. So we stopped painting that room, and we went outside and stained the porch. After that, we went inside and filled up the small holes in the closet and painted over them. Then I noticed that the closet doors were only halfway painted, so we painted those. We did several other random things (I think... o.o) but I seem a little brain dead right now.

At 1:30 P.M., Reid picked us up from the Habitat house. We went to his mom's house and talked for a little while, and then went out and ate. We ate there and of course, chatted about random little things. Heather's grandparents are so crazy. They crack me up.They always tell crazy little stories, and her grandmother was eating my cheesy fries off of my plate. x) Ha, I wasn't going to be able to finish them anyway.

After we left, we went back to their house for a little while longer, then went to Heather's house. I stayed there for a few hours, mainly on the internet and looking at old yearbooks. It's strange how much people can change! Then, I went home and... well nothing. :D That is my weekend--or just Saturday--summed up.

Ohhh... I can't believe I have like, 47 days until the end of this year! It's going to be very sad... and I hate starting new school years! Getting up early, once again, new classes, new friends... Only 3 more months until I really start freaking out.

Seriously, and the song is so catchy! You'll find yourself singing it at random times throughout the day, and I bet you won't listen to this just once today!

Happy 15th Anniversary mom and dad! Enjoy several more years. Oh, and you guys better get remarried in 5 years! I wasn't there for the first... I'd like to have seen it!

Every day, during P.E., me, a few friends, and other people play volleyball. Well, I am going to pretty much just say it: I am no good. But I try, that's all that counts, right? And I have fun, at least until people start yelling at me and saying how much I suck. Yesterday I was on the side where this one girl always serves the ball. l don't like her. She's mean. :( Haha... Yesterday I went to hit the ball, but someone behind me also jumped up so we ended up hitting the ball at the same time, so of course, it didn't go where we wanted it to. Then the girl who serves the ball yelled at me and and was like, "What the ****!?" Hey... bad language isn't necessary. It annoys me so much though, because I just like to attempt to play during the hour+ since I have nothing else to do, but instead I end up getting yelled at. Hey, it's not like you're a pro at volleyball, so just shut up and let me have fun. Today she tried kicking the ball and I said, "This is volleyball, not soccer." Then she yelled "**** you!" Seriously, what is your problem?! I don't know what I ever did to her, but she needs to chill out...

Before I forget, if you don't have a Neopets account, or want a new one, help me out! ^^ Sign up for free!

Well, that's about all I have. ): Oh, this Saturday I am going to volunteer at the house Habitat for Humanity has built and now they're just painting and finishing things like that. I went two Saturday's ago and I meant to blog about it, but I guess I forgot. I'll blog this time, if anything happens. Which something will happen, since I go with Heather. Where there's Heather, there's something to blog about.

Well... that's just a little update of my life.

OHHHH. I got my report card on Friday.

PE/Health: A
Earth/Environmental: B
French 1: A (93/100%)

We weren't told what number grade (out of 100%) we got on our report card, but a few of our teachers told us. Earth/Environmental... gr... I can't remember anything in that class.

Well, I Heard...

What is with people─seriously?! There is this girl at my school who likes to start drama─lots of drama. Most of her friends will even admit they like it better being her friend than nothing at all, because she likes to start drama, and they'd rather not get mixed up in it. This girl may say, "Yay, people are afraid of me," but I think it's rather sad that some, if not most, of her friends are her friends for that simple fact, or for another reason along those lines. Such as, not wanting to have to deal with her running her mouth.

Well this girl, who I'll call Shay, has created herself another "drama party." My friend, who I'll call Nicole, is a very nice girl─she stays clear from drama, and doesn't get into situations she doesn't want to (or shouldn't) be in. Yesterday, while I was outside after school waiting for the bus, Shay was talking to a girl who rides my bus. She said something along the lines of, "I'm going to beat [Nicole]. She's been running her mouth and messing with my man." Since I was concerned for Nicole, I asked Shay what she did. She told me how she heard from some friend of hers that Nicole had called her the "B" word, and had been hanging around with her boyfriend, in a way that I guess had made Shay think there was something going on between her boyfriend and Nicole.

(1) Nicole does not cuss, whatsoever
(2) Nicole has a boyfriend, and would never cheat on him

I repeatedly stated this to Shay. "I know [Nicole], I've known her for a while now. She wouldn't do anything like that," I said. Of course, Shay tried to tell ME that I "obviously didn't know her" and that she "knew her better than me." Whether that is true or not─fine. But I still think it was wrong of her to accuse Nicole of doing something based on "hearsay" or "rumors."

Somehow, my other friend, who I'll call Britney, got into all of this because of Shay's friend saying other things. Today, while I was in lunch, Britney asked to go to the restroom while she was in PE. On her way there, she came and talked to us. Unfortunately, we didn't do much talking because Shay is also in my lunch. She kept yelling for her to talk to her, so finally, Britney walked over to her and her group of friends. With many people in the cafeteria staring at them, Shay kept running her mouth─keeping the drama going and creating even more as she went. Finally, after trying to tell Britney to just leave, the bell rang and she went back to class.

After school, again, Shay talked to me. She asked me where Britney was. "She's a car rider," I said.
"I wish she was a bus rider so I could beat her up." Shay said.

Seriously? Seriously! She was being so immature, and I find it pathetic that she gets pleasure out of being mean to other people. Hearsay is so annoying, and I hate when people base things off of that... Haha, poor Nicole and Britney. I'll try my best to stand in her way─until she simply picks me up and moves me out of the way.

Quick blog. I've got an idea! How would you guys like if I had a debating page, where I'd post topics and you can debate about them? If you think this would create too much drama, then please say so. You could stay anonymous while debating, if you felt it'd be for the best. I don't know, it was just an idea. I just want to add a new "project" to the site, something all of you can interact in. One problem that would arise with the debating idea is that I wouldn't know any subjects. So, if you think it's a good idea, please try to give a few debatable subject suggestions. If you can, I'd also love if you can suggest any other ideas that I could add for you all to interact in.

French Class

My French teacher is really... crazy. Being that she is only three years older than some of the people in my class, she kind of fits in a lot. She's 20, by the way. Anyhow, yesterday we were doing many games to study for the test which we took today. Our test was about body parts and clothing, and some reason it was kind of hard for us to remember them. First we played Simon says. Our teacher called out the body part or clothing piece in French, and then we'd point to it. So we were all in the class acting like little kids, peeking at other people to see what they were pointing to. It was actually quite funny, and fun if I must say. I hadn't played Simon says in a long time. After that, we tried to convince the teacher to let us play Bingo, but it would take a while to get the cards made and all of that stuff. We were almost about to just take notes when a girl said, "Let's do the Hokey Pokey!" Then she went into explaining how we'd do that, using the French words. She almost didn't convince the teacher to let us do that, but unfortunately, she was able to. We went outside and did the Hokey Pokey... Cars kept going by, and we were right behind the OSS (out of school suspension) room, so people saw us looking stupid. Ha ha, our teacher made us do it and made it a part of our participation grade. It was fun though.

Oh, I am addicted to a show called Lost, it is such a good show. My parents and siblings were addicted, so I figured I'd try watching it. The first episode was good, but I wasn't so sure about it yet. I kept watching it and I just love it! There are four seasons, and I am finally on Season 2. I recommend you watch it. You'll be hooked. You can watch it on abc.com by clicking the "full episodes" tab and clicking "Lost Season 1 in HD Streaming". "Exodus, Part Two" is the last episode in Season 1, which is at the top of the list. You need to start with "Pilot, Part 1" which is at the bottom of the list. The first episode is somewhat gory, but that really dies down after the first episode or two. Trust me. Keep going after the first one. You'll see what I am talking about.

My friend that you all probably know about by now, Heather, volunteers for the Habitat for Humanity. Every Saturday, she meets a lot of people at a specific house, and they help build it. I decided I wanted to volunteer, so now I have something to do every Saturday! I'm actually really excited. The only bad part is having to get up at 7-7:30 AM. It's for a good cause though, right?

Well, I am going to go watch Lost! Don't forget to check it out!

Time Well Spent with Heather

I am still at Heather's, and I have been here since Easter Sunday. On Sunday morning, Heather woke me up at 12 PM and started my day off really loud. I recall her being really cheery. My mom said she was quite happy in the mornings, but I guess 12 PM isn't "morning." She actually asked if I wanted to go with her and her dad to hang out, instead of them picking me up after they had Easter dinner with their family. Since I had just waken up and had nothing ready, I told her to just pick me up after they did what they were going to do. She said she'd call before they left, so I got up and put clothes in the washer. About an hour later, Heather came over to my house. I was actually reading comments on my last blog when she called from my driveway.

"Hi, Katlyn, I'm here," she said. Confused, I asked, "What do you mean here?" To my surprise, she replied, "Here, at your house." I couldn't believe it. My clothes had just been put in the dryer and I hadn't gotten ready at all. As I said, I was still on the computer reading comments. I told her to give me 15 minutes, so I rushed to get ready, and put all my clothes in a Wal-Mart bag to be dried at her house. After I said all of my goodbyes, I apologized for taking so long. We went to Heather's house and we hung out there for a short time, because not long after we walked up to her grandmother's where some of her family had met up for Easter dinner, or um... lunch I guess you'd say.

After we ate food, we left and walked down to the creek behind Heather's house, which I had never seen... though I've been to Heather's several times. Hello, Heather, how come this had not come up? I seriously would like to know. :D Heather showed me what a clam looked like, and I actually brought it back as a "souvenir from Heather's house." No, it wasn't alive. Heather shared a story with me of how she use to take clams back to her house and put them in normal tap water, in which, of course, they died. We walked back to her house, and were able to convince her dad to let us (or Heather, mainly) do an experiment for some school thing. Heather drove her dad and I more than an hour to the closest Dunkin' Donuts and Krispy Kreme, which weren't far from each other. However, it being Easter, Krispy Kreme was closed. Dunkin' Donuts, however, was not... because they are in it for the business. You go Krispy Kreme! They were showing respect. (They're in it for the customer satisfaction!) I won't lie, Dunkin' isn't so bad, but they aren't that great either. I like Krispy Kreme, you can taste the freshness. Overall, Krispy Kreme beats Dunkin' Donuts all the way.

Once we got back to Heather's house, we basically sat around. We didn't do anything until about 1 AM except mess around on the computer and listen to music. I had logged onto Neopets.com and someone on the boards had posted their AIM screen name. I figured, "Okay, we're bored so let's make this guy look stupid." I IM'd him and he was asking me about myself. I told him things, all very wrong, of course. It was very hilarious, because that just goes to show that you have no idea who you are talking to, so make sure to not give out anything personal! For all we know he wasn't who he was saying he was either. That was probably a "once in a lifetime" thing, but I must say that it was very funny.

We didn't go to bed until 3 AM, so we didn't wake up until 1 PM on Monday. When we did wake up, we watched Blood Diamond (2006). When I had seen the previews, I actually had no intentions in watching it ever, but Heather's dad wanted to watch it so we did. It turned out to be a very good movie! There is a lot of violence, but it has a great story. It was a very long movie though, so that's all we did for a long time. After that we didn't do anything except watch TV, until, once again, very late. Around 10 PM, we started watching I am Legend (2007). During the middle of the movie, one of Heathers' friend's called and interrupted the movie. So I paused it and got on her laptop while she talked to him. I logged on AIM and I tried being a friend to someone that I use to refer to as a "best friend." However, in the process of trying to help this friend, I lost her as a friend. After that, Heather and I talked to a friend of ours, and we had a lot of fun joking with him. He is still clueless. However, I cannot tell you about the situation, because he may read this. It was extremely funny though! Ha, I am open to telling anyone who e-mails me. Something after 12 AM, we finished watching "I am Legend". There are zombies in the movie, and though I do not really like zombie movies, but it was actually really good.

We laid down to go to sleep at 12:50 AM. It's just a random thing that Heather and I always squeeze in a conversation before we fall asleep. I told Heather that our conversation had to be 10 minutes in length, so that it'd be over at 1 AM. We actually went 22 minutes over, talking a total of 32 minutes about random stuff. It's a new tradition that we have where we'll talk for at least 10 minutes before we fall asleep, since that seems to be the only time conversations come up. Seriously. If you ever stay with a friend, or they stay with you, think about it: conversations come up before you're about to fall asleep. It's basically because it's quiet and you're just thinking, trying to fall asleep.

We woke up at 11 AM, and Heather gathered up change. Esther, Heather's brother's girlfriend, drove us to Sonic. Heather has a very bad addiction to Sonic (the restaurant, not the game). I got my usual, a Reese's milkshake, or blast (or whatever it is). But this time I also got a grilled cheese from the kids menu. Haha, go me for being able to admit that. Heather got her usual mango tea with extra ice, and a bacon egg and cheese burrito. Esther went with a simple choice: strawberry smoothie. Seriously, a strawberry smoothie? Out of all the other tasty things, she had to get something so normal, teehee.

After that, we came back to Heather's house and I ended up falling asleep, then I made pizza for everyone, and we've been watching television since. That's basically all that has happened. Wow, I certainly had much to say this time. It makes up for all of my other short entries. I wonder how many people actually read all of that... d:

Happy Easter!

So, my mom says I better not post this. Well... she does not know my password to FanUpdate, therefore she cannot tell me not to. (: I <3 YOU MOMMY!

Ahem. So, my parents asked me to make them a cup of coffee. Reluctantly (is that the right word?), I did. My dad likes his with a little cream, and my mom likes hers with lots of cream and a spoon of sugar. I accidentally got their cups mixed up, somehow, so I told them to taste them. My mom felt her cup and said, "It feels like my cup." Hello, mother, they were the same cup! Then she looked at her coffee and said, "It's really creamy, I hope his isn't like that. He won't drink it if it is." So, everyone, there's two senses so far: feel and sight. So she grabbed his cup and brought it up to her nose and said, "This coffee smells like his." Three senses: feel, sight, and smell, which all could've been avoided with one delightful sense: taste. Sorry mom, I couldn't resist. Maybe you all don't find this funny, but it's one of those "You HAD to be there!" moments.

It's almost 12 AM, so it's almost Easter! So... HAPPY EASTER! What will you all be doing? I am going to my friend's house tomorrow. We haven't decided if I'll go before or after they have their Easter dinner. I hope it's before, I always love dinners with her family, which they have all the time it seems. When I say "family dinner," I don't mean just the people in her house. It's other relatives as well. There isn't a ton of people that come, but there is quite a few.

What do you all hope to get from the Easter bunny? The Easter bunny came early for me... I got the movie "Disturbia" and a yellow stuffed animal rabbit. Oh, I also got two things of the mini chocolate eggs that have caramel inside.

Well, that's all everyone! Allison is talking up a storm over here, I'm going to go play with her. Haha, I didn't know 10 month olds could be so chatty.

Beginning of Break

Update: Icons I added and edited some. 13 edited & 41 added Check them out!
Edit: Tiffany I'm talking about you... I dare you to call me again and tell me not to.

Spring break has begun. I guess I'll "enjoy" my week and a few days off by catching up on my sleep. Maybe I'll get to hang out with friends. Let's not get our hope up though... It's rather silly, because we don't have school tomorrow, and then of course no school on Saturday or Sunday, and then that entire week and that weekend. I believe the date we go back to school is the 31st (Monday), but I am not positive. Anyhow, the week we go back is a short week, because that Thursday we have a 2 hour early dismissal and that Friday we don't go because of some teacher workday or whatever. It'll be the end of the half of this semester, meaning 9 weeks of school left! School certainly has gone by quickly this year.

So Easter is early this year, huh? Oh my! I just checked a calendar and it is on Sunday! How did I not know that...? It snuck (my computer is saying that is not a word) sneaked(?) up on me just like St. Patrick's Day. Mean holidays, why must you trick us? April Fool's is coming up soon, too! Wow, it's hard to believe it is nearly April. April showers bring May flowers. I expect a lot of rain! We need it... our drought is still not over. We're close to it though, so hurry up April!

I watched The Game Plan yesterday. It was pretty good, but it wasn't amazing. I'll write a full review before Sunday.

My school is having a talent show tonight. I wish I could go—to watch, not participate in. I don't really have a talent that I could perform. Unless, however, they let me take a computer on stage and gave me a few minutes to construct a mini-website. Oh yes, let's show everyone what a nerd I am. Sounds fantastic!

Happy St. Patrick's Day?

Well.... I guess it's St. Patrick's Day, at least that's what the news is saying, ha ha. I suppose I should find something green to wear, unless people don't do the whole "You're not wearing green, so I'll pinch you really hard!" thing. Yea... it's never fun getting pinched.
Quick edit: they still do that!

Today is "Food Day" in French! I've been looking forward to this day for a while. My teacher ordered a lot of cheese. To be honest, I am not a cheese person, but it's French cheese! I have to try it, you know? We're also having these things called crepes (pronounced crape, like grape with a "C"). They look and sound pretty yummy! A crepe is a type of very thin cooked pancake usually made from wheat flour (Wiki). Our teacher will have tons of different fruits and we'll put those on, and I'm not sure of what other toppings... we'll just have to find out during my fourth block! I don't think I'll be able to hold out that long. =D

French food edit! The crepes were amazing! Look! That's basically what ours looked like, then you roll them up somewhat like a taco. We also put Nutella in ours, which is like a spreadable chocolate. It was just... great! Oh, goat cheese is gross! And so was some other cheese that smelled/tasted like feet...

Oh, Spring Break is coming up shortly! This Friday, actually, I won't have school, and then the whole next week. Then, when we come back, I don't have to go that Friday due to a "Teacher Workday." So I have lots of time to catch up on some sleep!

I have 5 minutes until I go outside to wait for the bus, but I'm still not even ready! My sister is mad at me (as always) because I refuse to let her use my hair straightener because she has her own, so she won't let me in the bathroom to change. I'd change in my own room, but I know I'll wake my baby sister up... she kept waking me up during the night. I guess I'll have to put her out of the bathroom myself. Bye internet =)

Twitter

I decided to join the large, and still growing, community of Twitter. I don't understand the point of it whatsoever. I've tried reading about it, and it seems like people are just making a big deal about something they call "microblogging." Maybe it works for some people, but I never have anything to "microblog" about. None of my blog entries are ever long, however, but they certainly aren't short enough for Twitter. Each Twitter entry has to be 140 characters or less. I'll look into it more and try to figure out the point of it all, and maybe I'll come to like it.

Oh, guess what? 289 days until Christmas! Who's counting? I certainly am! Actually, I'm not excited yet, I just felt like knowing how much longer I'd have until I would become overwhelmed with excitement. That is in approximately 264 days!

I added a new page under the "About Me" section. Quizzes! Every time I take a quiz on the internet, I'll post the results on that page, and you can also take the quizzes. (: I just figured it'd be a neat thing to do. Also, if you'd like to suggest some quizzes, or places I could take many quizzes, let me know!

That's basically all the "updates" I have for today. Maybe more tomorrow?

No Teacher

On Wednesday, I went to my first class and we all got settled in and were chatting with our friends. After a while, we noticed a teacher was not there. Eventually someone walked down there and told us our teacher wasn't able to make it in, and wouldn't until third period, so she was going to stay as our sub. Our teacher hadn't planned on being late, so there were no lesson plans. Guess what that meant? The sub let us talk the entire time we were in there.

What a break. I absolutely despise algebra. That class is so slow and boring. It was nice to have a little break from the actual class.

A group of people in the back had out their cell phones and they were prank calling people. Usually I'd say this was immature, and a waste of time since no one answered. However, this one guy ("Classmate") got an idea to call the city library. He called, it rang a few times, and a woman ("Librarian") answered. Here's basically how the conversation went:

Librarian: Hello?
Classmate: Hello, um—I'd like to know if you have any books on how to stuff a dog?
Librarian: (pause) I'm sorry?
Classmate: I'd like to know if you have any books on how to stuff a dog. My dog died and I've had him since I was a little kid, and he always slept with me and comforted me.
Librarian: Um... hold on just a second, please.
(We hear Librarian typing)
Librarian: We currently have five books on that topic, and you can take courses at—
(Classmate hangs up)

It was quite hilarious. I feel bad for that woman, I'm sure many bored teens call her with ridiculous stories. If you or your friends have ever prank called someone, comment and tell me what you did! ^^

On March 5th, I had officially 7 months until my 15th birthday! I can't wait! :)

Spring break is coming up in about two weeks! That's exciting. However, when I'm actually on Spring break, I'll be wishing I could go back to school.

They took away spring fling!!!! At our school they do like two days of where you do absolutely nothing from 12-3 P.M. I mean, you do stuff but they have little activities or whatever. Something like that, I'm not sure. I've never had it, since this is my first year of high school. They took it away though, because there were three fights in one week. Punish those people, not the entire school! That makes me incredibly angry. They're also threatening to change the time in between classes from seven minutes to three minutes. I barely have enough time now, I'll definitely be really late if they change it!

I really dislike my school.

Writing Test

This morning, bright and early at 8 AM, the 10th graders had a state writing test. I guess they thought it would be fun, and they decided to make the 9th graders take a practice writing test, to get ready for next year. It was kind of a "last minute" thing, I guess. This is the first year the 9th graders have had to take one. Grrrrr!

So I went to my homeroom with three of my friends, and we sat down. The teacher began to tell us what we were going to do (as if we did not already know, however they had to). After about 20 minutes, my homeroom teacher passed out the sheets of paper that told us the topic (what we had to write about). I had been ready for anything except this. We had to write a newspaper article about the meaning of "human rights." On the paper it had a definition... um, hello? How much clearer can you get?

I didn't start writing for about 15 minutes, maybe more. I couldn't think of how to start it off, whatsoever. Eventually I did start scribbling things down. I hope I did okay. However I doubt we'll even get graded, since it was only practice and I had English last semester... But we'll see, I guess?

Oh, haha. I figured I'd update you all on Allison. For those who have been reading my blogs since before my little sister was born, you know it's been an adventure since the day she was born. She is nearly 10 months old. She has already said her first word, "Dadda." She giggles all the time. She is a little chatterbox. She moves her mouth but no words come out, but she is trying! If you play pattycake, she'll throw her hands around trying to do it. It's adorable. She's quite a dork, just like her big sissy. She learned how to wave goodbye recently, except she waves backwards. She waves at herself. Poor thing. She'll get it eventually.

My "Fantastic" Leap Day

Obviously, Leap Day is my Friday the 13th. Today, during PE, I wanted to just hit someone. It was near the end of class, and I was walking over to where they lock up the things people want to be kept safe. Basically, all the girls put their pocketbooks in that room. I was walking across the gym, and I could have sworn I was away from the guys playing basketball. Next thing I know, I'm flying and fall right on the ground. (Sounds funny, but it hurt, haha.) Apparently, they started running towards the basketball goal where I was and they couldn't stop in time. I don't know. But they hit me. And you know what annoys me most? None of them offered to help me up or bothered to ask if I was okay. I fell in front of my friend's boyfriend who was playing volleyball. At least he offered to help me, but he wasn't even the one who knocked me over. How rude of those guys, hm? It really hurt though, since they were guys who were taking the advance PE, and I'm just a little 9th grader.

Well, I got up, looked around, and not many people saw. Basically the people who were playing volleyball—which was all of my friends. Fantastic. Ha ha. I started back to the room where they lock stuff up, and I got hit in the head with the volleyball.

Not many minutes later, the class ended and I went into this place where all of my friends hang out. Before the tardy bell rang, I started heading to my third period class. Guess what happened? Someone accidentally hit me in the face...

Grr! Becky, my friend, says I'm a "problem magnet." Maybe Leap Day just isn't my day. Good thing it only happens every four years.
